Current numismatic auctions

At Tauler&Fau, we offer 4 different types of auctions:

• Tauler&Fau Selection: The finest pieces by rarity or condition.

• Special Collections: Auctions featuring collections of all themes and periods.

• Thematic Auctions: Including Spanish Coins, Ancient Coins & World Coins.

• 10% Buyer’s fee Auctions: Auctions with a 10% buyer’s fee.

All auctions are held online. On certain occasions, such as the “Tauler&Fau Selection” or select “Special Collections,” the auction may also take place in person and/or via live streaming.

PDF and/or printed catalogs will be published whenever deemed appropriate.

To participate as a buyer in our auctions, you must first register on our website. To complete the registration successfully, you will need to fill in all required fields and provide purchase references from other auction houses or professional dealers. You will also be required to complete the KYC (Know Your Customer) process, during which your ID or passport will be verified to prevent identity fraud.

Once your registration is approved, you will have access to bid in our auctions. You have several bidding options:

• Website: You can place your bids through our website. You must log in first. Our online system will automatically defend your maximum bids. Bid amounts are flexible but must be whole numbers without decimals. If your bid is outbid by another bidder, you will receive an overbid notification via email. You can track the progress of your bids under “My Bids” in the “My Account” panel.

• Live bidding: We provide a proprietary real-time bidding system for all auctions, where lots are finalized one by one. Unless otherwise stated, all our auctions will use this system. Each auction’s information specifies the date and time when the final bidding for each lot will start. Using this real-time system incurs no extra charge for buyers.

• External Platforms: Bids via major international auction platforms such as Biddr and Numisbids are accepted. You must be registered on these platforms beforehand. Unlike website bids, these are not immediate; they are processed strictly in order of receipt and subject to verification of references for new clients.

• Telephone: Live telephone bids are accepted only for lots with a starting price of €1,000 or more. Please contact us at least 48 hours before the auction begins to arrange this properly. We recommend providing multiple phone numbers to avoid issues or delays during the auction. You can send your telephone bids by email to [email protected].

• Email: Written bids via email are accepted. You can send your bids to [email protected].

Yes, all lots are accompanied by a certificate of authenticity (PDF format only) which includes the description, photograph, starting price, and hammer price of the lot.

At Tauler&Fau, we offer a secure collection service for lots to be auctioned.
We can arrange insured courier pickup both within Spain and internationally, adapting to your needs and ensuring the value of the items.

Once payment is received, we proceed with the insured shipping of the coins to the specified address. Shipping costs vary depending on the destination and insured value. At Tauler&Fau, we ensure that every shipment arrives in perfect condition and with maximum security.

Yes, our auctions are open to international participants. You can register on our online platform and place bids from anywhere in the world. We offer insured international shipping options for awarded lots.

The starting price is set after a professional evaluation that considers factors such as rarity, condition, market demand, and previous sale prices of similar coins. Our goal is to establish a competitive price that attracts buyers and maximizes value for the seller.
