How to Buy Coins in Our Online Auctions

Register on our website

To purchase in our auctions, you must first register on our website. To complete the registration successfully, you must fill in all fields of the registration form and provide purchase references from other auction houses or professional dealers. You will also need to complete the KYC (Know Your Customer) process, during which your ID card or passport will be verified to prevent identity fraud.

Once you have completed your registration, you will have access to bid on our auctions. There are different bidding options:

    • Web: You can place your bids through our website. To do this, you must first log in. Our online system will automatically honor your maximum bids. The bid amount is open and cannot have decimals. If you are outbid by another bidder, you will receive an outbid notice via e-mail. You can check the progress of your bid lots in the “My Bids” section of the “My Account” panel.
    • Live bidding: Tauler&Fau offers its customers its own real-time bidding system for all auctions, where all auction lots will be auctioned off one by one. Unless otherwise indicated, all our auctions will be held through this system.In the information about each auction, we list the day and time at which the final auction for each of the lots offered will begin. Using the real-time bidding system will not entail any extra charge for the buyer.
    • External platforms: Bids placed through the most significant international auction platforms Biddr and Numisbids will be accepted. To do this, you must be registered on those platforms beforehand. Unlike the online bids, these will not go into effect immediately; they will be computerized in strict order of arrival, after checking references for any new customers.
    • Phone bids: Requests for live bidding via phone will be accepted only for lots that have a starting price equal to or greater than €1,000. Please contact us at least 48 hours before the start of the auction so that we can handle this properly.We recommend providing several telephone numbers whenever possible to prevent any problems or delays during the course of the auction.     • E-mail bids: Bids made in writing via e-mail will be accepted. You can send your bids to the following address: [email protected]. Download our bid form here.

Buyer's Premium

The Buyer’s Premium is 20%, unless otherwise indicated. This commission will be added to the auction price of each lot awarded in the auction.

Invoices

You will receive the pro forma invoice for the lots awarded to you via e-mail about 1 hour after the auction ends.

Payment methods

From your “My Account” panel, you can pay by credit card or Bizum (Spain only). The different payment methods accepted are below:

    1. Credit/Debit Card (VISA-MASTERCARD). With a limit of €6,700, with a 1% surcharge on the total invoice.
    2. Bizum (Spain only) with a limit of €2,500, with a 1% surcharge on the total invoice.
    3. Wire Transfer.
    4. Paypal with a 6% surcharge on the total invoice.
    5. Cash only for invoices with a maximum amount of €1,000 for spanish resident and €10,000 for foreign residents.

The invoice must be paid within a maximum of 20 days from the date of receipt and, in any case, prior to the shipment or collection of the numismatic material awarded.

Shipping

If you are resident in Spain, you will receive your purchases, delivered by courier and fully insured, at your home within 24-48 hours once payment is made. Registered mail can be used for shipping depending on the destination.

If you live abroad, we will process the export license from the Government of Spain’s Ministry of Culture, according to current law. This involves a processing period of 2-3 weeks. Once the export license has been processed, you will receive your shipment in a period of 48-72 hours by DHL or FEDEX Courier, fully insured.

    How to Buy Coins at Tauler&Fau Auctions

    How Can I Buy Coins at Tauler&Fau?

    At Tauler&Fau, we sell coins through online auctions. We hold between 1 and 2 auctions monthly. Register on our website to start bidding.

    How do I register on the Tauler&Fau website?

    Very simple. Click on the “Log In | Sign Up” button and fill in all the fields of the registration form, providing purchase references from other auction houses or professional dealers. You will also need to complete the KYC (Know Your Customer) process, during which your ID card or passport will be verified to prevent identity fraud.

    This is my first time. Can I register without business references?

    If you are a new collector and do not have commercial references, we kindly ask you to tell us what type of coins you would like to collect and which historical period you are most interested in. This will allow us to guide you through your first steps in numismatics. You will also need to complete the KYC (Know Your Customer) process, during which your ID card or passport will be verified to prevent identity fraud.

    Can I purchase unsold lots after the auction ends?

    Yes, you can purchase unsold lots at the starting price plus a 20% sales commission (VAT included). The auction will remain published on our website for 30 days after the auction ends.

    How much time do I have to pay for my purchases?

    You will have a period of 20 days after the auction ends to make payment for your purchases.
